The Express Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
The famous 3 and 2 day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu are the most famous treks in the world and the number one trek in Peru. They are the most booked tours by thousands of tourists, offering 3 and 2 days of hiking along original paved Inca trails, with a variety of fascinating Inca archaeological sites and the impressive landscape of Machu Picchu National Park, which can only be accessed by those who get a ticket many months in advance that can only be purchased through a local travel agency in Cusco, and Umachupicchu has such authorization, so learn more about this adventure below.
Day 1: Cuzco | Chincheros – Maras – Moray – Ollantaytambo
At the coordinated time we will go through your hotel, to start the excursion visiting Chinchero located at an altitude of 3800 meters above sea level, where we will observe the colonial temple that was built on Inca foundations, we will also visit its typical streets and artisan markets where people, especially women, still use their typical dresses. They do a lot of manual textile work, representing their daily activity. Then we go in the direction of the Salineras observing a spring from which salt water comes out and then we reach a thousand pools, after a whole process and obtains amounts of salt for human consumption. Then we will visit the archaeological group of Moray where they show circular terraces that to this day their possible function is not known for sure, many archaeologists and historians affirm that in Inca times the site was a research center for edible products. Our lunch will be in the sacred valley and then we will visit the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo.

Day 2: Ollantaytambo – KM 104-Wiñay Huayna – Intipunku – Aguas Calientes: Trekking.
After breakfast we will arrive at the train station. it will take us to km. 104. It is here where we will begin our trek today we will pass through Chachabamba, an Inca archaeological site with an altitude of 2250 masl. or 7,381.89 feet continuing the ascent until reaching Wiñay Wayna, the second archaeological site, where we will have a guided tour. Throughout the journey you will appreciate the beautiful views of the Urubamba River as well as the great variety of vegetation of this natural reserve (historical sanctuary of Machu Picchu).
We will have lunch, Box Lunch style, then we will continue with our walk towards the Puerta del Sol, "INTI PUNKU" where we will have the first panoramic view of Machu Picchu. After a brief stop for some photographs and a brief explanation, we begin to descend to the Inca citadel. It is here where we will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful sunset over Machu Picchu. Then we take the bus down to the town of Aguas Calientes where our hotel is located. After dinner our guide will coordinate the last details for our visit to Machu Picchu the next day.

Day 3: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco.
With a two-hour guided tour of this great ancient city where you will visit the temples, enclosures, sacred fountains, terraces, etc. Then you will have some free time to explore Machu Picchu. If you made your reservations in advance, you will be able to climb Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain after your guided tour. After you have finished exploring Machu Picchu, we will return by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will take the train to Ollantaytambo and our private transport will be waiting for us to take you to the hotel in the city of Cusco.
The "INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU 3 DAYS" can depart any day of the week, from March to January. We do not operate this itinerary in February due to the rainy season and route maintenance.
